Preparation:
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey in a glass (8 oz) of hot water and stir well. Put the liquid in a large jar and add 2 tablespoons of kefir and 4 cups (1 liter) of milk. Stir well again, cover the jar with two layers of gauze and keep it in a warm place for 3 days. Then add a teaspoon of dry yeast, stir well and cover the jar.
- Once you notice some bubbles, your koumiss is done. Keep the jar in the fridge and drink 3.3 tbsp (0.5 dl) half an hour before your meals, three times a day. Repeat this procedure for 2 weeks.
Warning:
If you are driving, do not drink koumiss before you sit behind the wheel, because it contains alcohol.
